2016-17 Mentoring Programming

Mentor training cources for the 2016-2017 school year are open!  Mentoring Matters Levels 1 and 2 are part of AEA 267’s Mentor Certification for Growth in Professional Practice. The Mentor Teacher Certification for Growth in Professional Practice is a program designed to prepare teacher leaders to serve as mentors or mentor facilitators in Pre K-12 school settings. Through role definition, personal goal-setting and reflective practices, the program provides a unique opportunity to explore collaborative processes, protocols, adult learning theory, and strategies necessary for initial teacher leader roles.

Mentoring Matters Level 1 Course #15415 is designed for those new to the mentoring role or for those aspiring to mentor. Level 1 will focus on building an introductory awareness of the tools and concepts necessary in developing the capacity for mentors to support beginning teachers. This course will provide support to initiate, develop, and maintain learning-focused relationships that correlate with the developing needs of beginning teachers. (1 License Renewal or Graduate Credit)

Mentoring Matters Level 2 Course #15416 will continue to build upon and develop concepts and strategies introduced in Level 1. Mentors will continue to deepen their practice through strategies to increase versatility, capacity, and fluency within their mentoring skills. This course is suggested for those who have a minimum of one year mentoring experience.
